Gyeongju Trip

“Come to Gyeongju to become a character of ancient history!”

November 5th and 6th, I went to Gyeongju with my friend Steven. We had an enriching experience with Korea’s past history and present lifestyle. We boarded the oldest Korean transit from Busan to Gyeongju and we were able to stay in a traditional Korean guesthouse and experience another part of Korea that is missing in the busy and chaotic life of Busan. When we arrived in the new city, the first thing we thought to ourselves were, “Gyeongju is quiet and peaceful!”

There was a sense of calmness that I have never experienced anywhere else in Korea. The autumn weather magnified the beauty of the city and the magnificent colours of the leaves were more vibrant than usual. I really liked Gyeongju!

Steven and I managed to visit couple of historical sites and bought souvenirs too. I got myself a rabbit bracelet (Chinese Zodiac symbol for 1987-ers).

Overall, the weekend trip was wonderful and I really enjoyed my time outside of Busan. I still want to visit other major cities of Korea such as the top 5 populated cities after Seoul and Busan: Incheon, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju and Ulsan.

  1. Hi Ruban

I stumbled upon one of your early entries when I did a google search for Danggam Dong. I found it entertaining to read your post since it mentioned Kylene and Chris. I used to work at BIMS with Chris and Ian [Kylene's husband].

Anyway, I took a quick look at some of your other posts and I love your photo collages. If you have a minute I'd love to know how you make them. Is there a special program you use?

    Cheers, e.

  2. Hey! The program I use is Picasa (free download) and it's from the Google program. Easy to use and all my cropping, lighting, and collages are all made from there :)

Thanks for this message, I slacked off and did not post a new blog for last weekend trip to Seoul. I am going to do that later on today :)
